I have already had it remapped at @MalloryPerformance but its time to push it even further with a hybrid turbo and high pressure fuel pump. I am aiming for over 550bhp but in a RWD car its difficult to put the power down which is why i am going to install a limited slip differential! Lets see if that helps...

Notes
This video documents a focused transformation of a BMW M140i into a higher performance rear-wheel-drive hatchback by addressing the car’s fundamentals before pushing toward bigger power. The host begins by explaining the core reason for modification: to make the car as quick and as fast as a rear-wheel-drive hatchback can be, given the M140i’s stock open differential. He demonstrates the problem of power being sent to the wheel with the least traction and introduces the limited-slip differential as the solution to improve both on-the-line grip and overall handling. The mechanical portion follows with the removal of the open differential, the mounting bolts, and the heavy process of extracting the old unit. He then installs a genuine BMW limited-slip differential, fills it with oil, and recalibrates the drivetrain so power is distributed to the wheel with traction. The segment highlights the challenges of the swap, including the need for extra clearance by removing some suspension components and the care required to ensure the new diff is properly seated for the required curing time. By the end of the installation, the car is ready for testing, and the host sets the stage for more aggressive power additions such as a hybrid turbo and high-pressure fuel pump to target around 550 bhp. The video’s second major phase shifts to real-world testing, starting with a controlled drift session to verify the diff’s behavior and then accelerating the car to the drag strip at Santa Pod to compare against a Mercedes A45 AMG, focusing on traction, launch, and quarter-mile performance. The results show the M140i achieving a 12.01 second quarter-mile while the A45 posts a 13.1 second run, reinforcing the upgraded car’s advantage in this matchup. The host closes by reflecting on the success of the diff swap, confirming the plan to complete further upgrades, and inviting viewers to engage with the channel for upcoming content and improvements.
