Description

Check out the Insta360 ONE X2 (discounts + free selfie stick with my link): store.insta360.com My widebody Liberty Walk Maserati has had a huge amounts of modifications. But there is one modification i have always thought about doing and that is a straight pipe. The Maseratis's are known for the Ferrari sound they leave behind them and i was hoping to make this known by installing a straight pipe exhaust system. It sounded amazing but that was for about 1 day before it was involved in an accident!

The video opens with the creator explaining that the planned lighthearted end of year content quickly shifts when the Maserati Granturismo, which has been heavily modified with Liberty Walk widebody kit, experiences a setback. The host discusses the car’s history on the channel, its 4.2 liter V8, and the motivation to install a straight pipe exhaust to amplify the exhaust note. The initial work focuses on removing stock components, including catalysts and downpipes, with on-screen commentary about the bolts, brackets, and challenges of an older chassis. The moment the exhaust is removed and the headers are exposed is described as extremely loud, setting the stage for the drastic change in both sound and driving experience. The video then pivots to a rapid modification sequence where the host tries a budget approach to upsize the downpipes and contends with potential engine light issues, suggesting a future tune to compensate for the changes. The host teases the next phase by reassembling the exhaust with a perceived OEM-plus approach, asserting that the modification should balance sound with reliability while preserving the car’s identity. The first test drive after installation yields a reaction from inside the car and from bystanders, with the new straight-piped sound described as “Ferrari-like” and overwhelmingly loud for an open road, confirming a successful though polarizing transformation. The video shifts toward a Christmas special arc, including a social media driven giveaway for a PlayStation 5, and documentation of a subsequent charity/personal delivery event that underscores the creator’s relationship with the audience. The final stretch captures a separate incident at a gas station, where a car wash worker driving another vehicle allegedly hits the Maserati, prompting discussions about insurance and liability, and concluding with the car wash company’s potential liability and the prospect of repairs to the Liberty Walk kit. The content ends with gratitude to viewers, promotional notes about the Insta360 One X2, and a call to action for subscribing, liking, and staying tuned for 2022 projects. The overall narrative blends high-octane car modification with real-world logistics, community engagement, and the emotional rollercoaster of owning a heavily customized exotic car.

Questions answered

What caused the Maserati to crash in the video, and who is responsible for the incident?
The video depicts an unrelated incident at a gas station where a blue van backing into the Maserati is described as the cause of the crash, with a separate car wash worker involved. The content discusses insurance and liability options rather than assigning blame to the creator.
Did the straight pipe modification improve the car’s sound and performance?
Yes, the creator reports that the straight pipe modification produced a much louder, more Ferrari-like exhaust note and greater overall volume, both outside and inside the car, with visual and audio testing confirming the effect.
What happens with the PlayStation 5 giveaways mentioned in the video?
Three winners are selected from orders placed on the Mat Armstrong UK shop, with announcements and delivery logistics described; one winner in Northern Ireland faces delivery challenges, leading to a postal shipment instead.
Will the car be repaired after the crash, and who pays for it?
Repair costs are discussed in terms of insurance and the car wash company’s public liability, with the likelihood of the other party or the car wash paying for damages, and a potential impact on the Liberty Walk kit repairs being assessed.
