Description

The BMW 1 Series E87 steering wheel is slightly dated and not at all sporty. With the help of PHATBITSUK i made my old steering wheel look brand new. I have also sold my Audi TT MK2, the time just felt right to move on to bigger projects which means more entertainment for you!

The video opens with the creator outlining an ambitious, cost effective project: upgrading the steering wheel of a BMW 1 Series by wrapping it in Alcantara with yellow stitching, instead of replacing the whole wheel. He credits PHATBITSUK for providing the wrap materials and teases potential future content around the Audi TT that featured in the channel’s earlier videos. The wrap kit is described as a special order, designed to fit around the existing wheel, and the host emphasizes that this modification is inexpensive relative to a full wheel replacement. He demonstrates unpacking the kit and lays out the plan: align the wrap with a centered white line on the wheel, then sew it on carefully to avoid creases. The narration highlights the anticipated challenge of keeping the center line aligned and achieving a neat finish, while introducing the tools included with the kit for sewing and assembly. The episode blends practical steps with moments of trial, as he works through adhesive and stitching considerations and contemplates removing trim for a cleaner installation. By the end of the first segment, the host notes the wrap is in place, with a sense that the final look should integrate well with the car’s interior, and he signals a satisfaction with the approach and result so far.
