The PA279Q wins the honour of being my new monitor. It's absolutely beautiful, has acceptable input lag, and I don't find the ghosting effect to be detrimental to general use or gameplay (but I'm used to it). On top of that it's just less fatiguing to look at, and man... them colours. Wow. The video presents an in-depth unboxing and overview of the ASUS PA279Q professional LCD monitor. The host opens with a clear appreciation for the product’s aesthetics, describing the PA279Q as absolutely gorgeous and highlighting its 10-bit IPS panel, which enables a broader color range and finer color transitions. He explains that the monitor uses a 14-bit lookup table in addition to the 10-bit panel, reducing color approximations and delivering truer colors, which is especially valuable for photographers and videographers, though also beneficial for general users who value color accuracy. The packaging includes a hood for bright ambient light, a range of connection cables, and a calibration/testing report that guarantees a Delta E of less than two. The discussion then shifts to practical setup details, including the stand’s adjustability, exposed ports, and the emphasis on DisplayPort for full resolution and color depth, noting HDMI and other legacy connections are less suitable for 2560x1440. The host finishes by outlining the monitor’s professional features, such as uniformity compensation, color calibration options, and independent color controls, and contrasts the monitor’s intended use for professional work against gaming needs, acknowledging its high cost but underscoring its beauty, build quality, and immersive color experience.
