In this CES 2010 tour inside OCZ’s suite, Linus Tech Tips walks through OCZ’s SSD lineup and highlights both established models and exciting new offerings. He starts by presenting the Vertex, Agility, and Solid 2 lines, noting that OCZ has a wide range of drives on display beyond the obvious examples. The tour then shifts to newer products, including Vertex 2, the higher-end Vertex 2 Pro and Vertex 2 Pro Ex, which introduce faster controllers and SLC flash aimed at enterprise users while remaining relevant for enthusiasts. A standout feature discussed is the Z-Drive P88, a PCI Express based solution renowned for remarkable sustained reads and writes, illustrating OCZ’s push into high-performance storage beyond traditional SATA interfaces. The presenter emphasizes its advanced design, showcasing the four Indel links controllers on the back and an onboard RAID controller, and explains that the P88 supports upgradable flash so users can scale density in the future. He also mentions expected availability timelines, suggesting a launch window around February to March, while acknowledging potential delays.
