Description

Ever wonder what's inside of a pool cleaning robot? Well, you're about to find out. And thanks Beth for sponsoring this video. Here's a little motor that allows it to swim around. Oh, we can take it off of our charging dock right here. Just two pins and that's all you need to charge it. Up top here, we have our filter that all of the crap from your pool goes into. Oh, damn. They must have put a lot of thought into this gear system. Come on off. Oh, there we go. Look at this injection mold. That would have not been cheap to tool out. There's so much sand from Eli putting it all in his pool. Come on apart. You know you want to come apart. I don't know what I'm doing yet. Yes. I was expecting to take out the motor, but instead I just removed the casing right here. It's fun though. You can see how they've sealed it and it probably stays together pretty well. Looks like there's a little encoder right here that lets it know how fast this motor is spinning. We got the camera out and it looks like it's attached using a whole whackload of screws, which I guess is good. You probably don't want water getting in here. But what were all of those screws for? How do I get in? This camera uses AI to detect what's in front of it and figure out where it needs to clean. It also has four ultrasonic sensors to figure out where the heck it is in the pool and two infrared sensors to figure out where it is in the pool. But more better earth. This was loads of fun to take apart. All right. Well, now it's time to put it back together.
