Description

Yet another unboxing of something I've spent my own hard-earned money on. I'm very impressed with these things so far. They aren't outstanding from a "loudness" point of view, but the stereo effect is excellent and very hard to lose even if you move around the room.

The Razer Mako 2.1 Gaming Speaker System is presented as a purpose built gaming audio solution, emphasizing placement accuracy and versatility. The reviewer notes the downward firing design with a full surround style grill that wraps around each satellite, which helps preserve sound position regardless of where you sit in relation to the speakers. This is highlighted as especially important for gaming, where knowing where footsteps or directional cues come from can impact performance, even though the system is only 2.1 and not a full surround setup. A prominent feature is the amplified headphone output built into the control puck, which is designed to improve audio quality when using high impedance headsets like the Sennheiser PC 350. The setup guide included with the package covers both the proper placement and connections, and explains how the two inputs on the control puck can be used simultaneously for different sources. The reviewer also discusses the overall wattage, noting that while the 300 W THX claim isn’t the sole determinant of performance, it provides a rough sense of scale for the system. The packaging and contents, including labeled cables, a protective foam cradle, and a THX badge on the speaker face, reinforce the premium positioning of this 2.1 system for gamers and multimedia enthusiasts.
