Description
I've got the whole MSI P55 family with me now. I'm excited to bring your my unboxing of what I think could be one of the hottest P55 motherboards at launch. MSI is targeting a very aggressive price point with this board, but they're including some killer features like OC Genie and DrMOS.
The video presents an unboxing and first look at the MSI P55-CD53 motherboard, part of MSI's mainstream P55 lineup. The host notes that the box color design marks it as a mainstream or classic series, distinguishing it from higher-end models like the G65 and G80. Inside the packaging, the accessory bundle includes a driver CD, MSI extras, manuals including the OC Genie guide, a Winki utility, cables, and an IDE adapter, painting a picture of an entry to mid-range board with practical features. The motherboard itself is shown outside the anti static bag, with attention paid to its I/O shield and rear port availability such as USB, PS/2, ethernet, and 7.1 audio. The chassis of the board emphasizes a user friendly layout with the OC Genie button, onboard power switch, and base clock adjustment controls, alongside the LGA 1156 socket and four DDR3 slots. Notable hardware features discussed include eight SATA ports powered by the south bridge and JMicron controller, a focus on clean cable routing, and the observable emphasis on affordability without sacrificing core overclocking capabilities. The host highlights the board’s physical design decisions, such as the placement of power ports, and circles back to the OC Genie feature as a standout selling point for a budget conscious builder. In closing, the video confirms the MSI P55-CD53 as a competitively priced option with a functional feature set, suitable for enthusiasts seeking value in a first foray into LGA1156 builds.
