Gary's Economics invites viewers to actively participate in a Channel 4 documentary by contributing personal stories about the economy. In this short, he explains that the project is progressing across the country and seeks 1-minute or shorter clips from the public, filmed on mobile devices, to be possibly included in the 2026 program. He asks entrants to begin with their name and where they’re from, then describe how the cost of living crisis affects them, including finances after bills, housing situation, and mortgage or rent ability. Additional prompts cover job security, perceived inequality, messages to government, and overall living standards, aiming to collect a broad range of experiences and perspectives. Viewers are told that submissions may be used in the documentary and other projects, and that there is no guarantee every video will be included. Instructions for sending clips are provided via WhatsApp and email, along with pointers and a privacy policy link. The video closes with an approachable, upbeat call to participate and a light farewell indicating a holiday break, emphasizing that the project is about giving people a voice on economic realities while encouraging engagement in 2026.
