I rebuilt it using BMW M2 parts to make a one of a kind M2 Hatchback. I recently stage 2 tuned the M140i at @MalloryPerformance and its now running around 430bhp but with help from a hybrid turbo we should be able to push the m140i to over 550bhp. But first i have to install it along side a high pressure fuel pump, then its time for Stage 3!

Notes
This video chronicles the transformation of a BMW M140i based hatchback into a high power machine through a hybrid turbo upgrade and supporting fuel system enhancements. It starts with the driver recounting the current state, noting the car is a stolen-recovered 140i that has been rebuilt with an M2 front end and an M2 style rear bumper to create a one of a kind M2 Hatchback. The goal is clear: push the performance past 550 bhp by installing a hybrid turbo, upgrading the high pressure fuel pump, and reworking the exhaust and intake flow. The host walks through the process of removing the stock turbo, explaining how the hybrid unit differs internally while keeping the exterior appearance familiar. He emphasizes the importance of proper installation order, gasket seating, oil and coolant lines, and air intake integrity to avoid boost leaks and maximize power. Along the way, there are moments of challenge such as a gasket misalignment causing exhaust noise and a coolant O-ring issue that requires a quick fix. By the end of the segment, the chassis is prepped for tuning, the bumper and grilles are replaced, and the team braces for the dyno session to discover the resulting gains and any remaining tweaks needed. In the middle portion, the builder details the technical nuances of the hybrid turbo concept, including how the same external housing can house a more capable internal setup to increase boost and power. The video demonstrates the practical side of a turbo swap, from unbolting the stock unit to fitting a new turbo elbow from Osprey Performance to improve airflow and reduce noise. The high pressure fuel pump is upgraded, with attention to connector alignment and wiring adjustments to accommodate the new pump. The host performs a smoke test to verify system integrity, identifying a minor breather leak and a coolant line O-ring issue that requires re-seating and a new seal. This segment blends hands on mechanical steps with candid commentary about the frustration and satisfaction that come with DIY tuning on a weekend project. Towards the conclusion, the video sets up the tuning phase at Malibu Performance, while also acknowledging an unscheduled delay due to a teammate’s illness. The car has regained a new, aggressive look with updated grilles and a freshly reinstalled bumper, and the sound and execution of the build are praised by viewers. The host wraps with a teaser for the upcoming tuning episode, inviting viewers to subscribe and stay tuned for the dyno results, and he acknowledges the community’s support as a major motivation. Overall, the video serves as both a detailed, step-by-step build log and an engaging showcase of how to extract significant power from a familiar platform through careful parts selection, precise installation, and iterative testing.
