Check if your car was damaged with Car Vertical - 10% off here carvertical.com This 2019 Aston Martin Vantage has become quite a project! I bought it after it had been involved in a front end accident. Finding the parts has been challenging but the biggest challenge of all has been removing the dashboard. After finding out that Aston Martin use a special crane to install and remove the dashboard i was shocked, but still determined and believed i could do it myself in the unit without the special crane.

REBUILDING A WRECKED 2019 ASTON MARTIN VANTAGE | PT4 follows Mat Armstrong as he continues a lengthy, technically challenging repair project on a crashed 2019 Aston Martin Vantage. In the opening segment, he contemplates whether he has the mental and physical energy to tackle the dashboard removal, highlighting that the passenger airbag deployment left the entire dashboard as a single unit. He explains that removing the dashboard requires pulling out an aluminum frame weighing around 50 kg, which is normally hoisted into place at the factory, and notes that Aston Martin works with a special crane for dashboard installation. Despite not having that crane, he remains determined to complete the job using available tools and a methodical approach, emphasizing perseverance and careful planning. The episode also showcases the decision to source a passenger side airbag and the total parts cost to date, illustrating the financial side of a high-end repair project and the tension between authenticity and practicality. He visits an Aston Martin main dealer to obtain a necessary dashboard component and shares positive impressions of the showroom, including an eye-catching F1 edition Vantage, which reinforces the idea that owners and enthusiasts share a tangible connection to the brand. The video transitions into a deeper dive on the administrative and technical steps involved, such as the importance of a clean, external assembly approach and the need to document the process for future reassembly. A recurring theme is the balance between preserving factory integrity and using aftermarket or alternate options when a direct replacement is not readily available, a tension that frames the decision to potentially adapt the dashboard from another model while seeking to maintain safety standards. The narrative remains grounded in practical engineering challenges, from disconnecting electrical harnesses to handling the steering column and heater matrix, all while maintaining the humorous and collaborative tone typical of Mat’s build series. Overall, the episode demonstrates not only the complexity of modern luxury car dashboards but also the community support and personal determination that drive the project forward, concluding with a forward-looking plan to test fit and reassemble once all components are secured.
