Description
This is my first video running nVidia GeForce 3D Vision Surround. I'll be running the game Hawx, which doesn't do too well with 3D Vision, but is breathtaking with nVidia GeForce Surround.
The video explores Nvidia GeForce 3D Vision Surround with the fighter sim Hawx, broadcast as Linus Tech Tips’ hands-on look at how the technology behaves in practice. Linus notes early that Hawx does not fully support 3D Vision, yet the surround setup remains striking and immersive. He describes running the game in Nvidia Surround across multiple displays and even demonstrates how the extra peripheral view helps track targets and navigate around the map, which he illustrates by locating tanks and coordinating missile fire. Throughout the footage he experiments with enabling and disabling 3D Vision to compare the effect, ultimately emphasizing that the surrounding display yields a strong sense of depth and spatial awareness even when true 3D is imperfect. He also comments on the hardware powering the experience, mentioning two GTX 480 GPUs and referencing a prior video that detailed the rig. The video shifts between the action and the scenery, highlighting how the wide field of view can reveal terrain and structures on the sides, which enhances situational awareness during aerial maneuvers. In closing, Linus teases future videos exploring other games that better support 3D Vision and invites viewers to subscribe for more content, while praising the overall cool factor of the Nvidia surround experience and 3D Vision integration when available.
