It been very difficult to find second hand parts for so ive had to buy alot from Mercedes directly. I believe the car was involved in some kind of police pursuit before being crashed and evidence in this video backs that up, but making silly mistakes like i did is only going to make the build more expensive.

Paragraph 1 (0:00 to 5:00) begins with the creator continuing work on a Mercedes C63 that was bought wrecked, and emphasizes that progress is being made in spite of the storm outside. The host explains the rebuild is expensive and difficult due to scarce secondhand parts, so work continues in a non-linear order as parts become available. We see initial focus on mechanical and front-end work, including a new subframe, long-tube headers, and a headlight replacement that needs balancing to function properly. The host details starting tasks under the hood, including replacing a faulty coolant reservoir with a cheap new unit, and begins replacing spark plugs on the eight cylinder V8. He notes the factory spark plugs likely remained since 2012, and begins removing coil packs to access the plugs, showing a careful approach to diagnosing wear and planning future upgrades. Overall, the tone stresses methodical progress and the ongoing challenge of sourcing parts while keeping the project moving forward.

Questions answered
- What is the main expensive mistake highlighted in the rebuild, and what caused it?
- The main expensive mistake was damaging the clock spring in the steering column while fitting the subframe, which resulted in no power to the steering wheel controls and paddles until a replacement clock spring is installed.
- Why does the builder decide to replace the knee airbag and dashboard, and what challenges does this create?
- The knee airbag and dashboard are replaced because the knee airbag has deployed, and the dash cannot function correctly with the deployed airbag components. Replacing the dashboard is a long, intricate process prone to bolts in unexpected places and complex wiring, increasing time and cost.
- Is it feasible to rebuild a damaged Mercedes C63 on a driveway, and what does the video suggest about this?
- Yes, it is feasible to rebuild on a driveway with time, persistence, and access to parts. The video demonstrates a methodical approach to replacing airbags, windows, seats, and the dashboard, reinforcing that careful planning and sourcing parts are key to completing the rebuild outside of a shop.
