Description
Very good "value" performance board. I say "value" because it's still quite expensive, but you usually get some awesome performance and features for your money with ASUS SE series boards. The P6T SE is no exception!
The video provides an unboxing and first look at the ASUS P6T SE X58 motherboard designed for the LGA1366 socket and Core i7 processors. The host walks through what is included in the box, noting items such as the IO shield, four SATA cables (two right angle, two straight), an IDE cable, and a substantial user guide with an English addendum about onboard LAN LEDs. He then opens the motherboard tray to highlight the board’s key features: an LGA 1366 socket, support for triple channel DDR3 memory up to 2000 MHz, and an 8+2 phase power design with turbo V. A warning is shown about CPU voltage limits, suggesting memory modules should run at or below 1.65V to avoid damage, and the video emphasizes the importance of choosing low-voltage RAM for stability. The layout is described in detail, including the 24-pin power connector placement, six SATA ports with two onboard and four routed to the side, PCI Express slots with configurations for multi-GPU setups, and the VRM cooling arrangement. Back panel connectivity is reviewed, featuring PS2 ports, USB 2.0, digital audio, FireWire headers, Ethernet, and 7.1 audio, while noting the absence of USB 3.0 on this older board. Throughout, the host reinforces that despite being a value-oriented edition, the P6T SE remains a capable X58 platform offering many of the features enthusiasts expect from a high-end workstation motherboard of its era.
