Description

Today I have a look at a bit of an unusual product from Razer. Normally they go for more of a claw-grip style of mouse with an ambidextrous design, but we're seeing a bit more of a deviation from that tried and true formula with products like the Mamba and now the Imperator. This is a palm style, right handed ergonomic mouse that feels very comfortable even when compared to the Ikari Laser (imo the king of ergo mice)

The video presents an in-depth unboxing and first impressions of the Razer Imperator, a palm-style ergonomic laser gaming mouse aimed at right-handed users. Linus Tech Tips starts by outlining the key specifications, noting the 3.5G laser sensor and 5600 DPI, which positions the Imperator as a high-performance option in Razer’s lineup. He then describes the packaging contents and the accessory kit, highlighting items such as the certificate of authenticity, a quick start guide, a master guide in multiple languages, stickers, a product catalog, and an unusual coaster that comes with the box. The unboxing itself focuses on build quality and material choices, including a braided fiber cable with a gold-plated USB connector, and the overall premium feel of the packaging. Linus then shifts to a hands-on examination of the mouse, emphasizing the ergonomic palm-grip design, contoured thumb grip, and the responsive, large rubberized side buttons. He demonstrates the adjustable side buttons with a sliding mechanism and explains how profiles, DPI settings, and button mappings can be saved on the device. Throughout the segment, he weighs pros and potential drawbacks, praising the ergonomic emphasis while noting some uncertainty about button placement for reach. He closes by reiterating the sense that the Imperator is positioned as more than a standard mouse, an extension of the user’s hand intended to improve comfort and control during long gaming sessions.
