Description

All right, so you can now actually try on clothes using AI. Google just announced this feature and added it to their labs today, but basically as long as you have a full body picture of yourself with a pretty simple background, and then you go into Google Shopping and try on the clothes, it will AI-generate a photo of you with that clothing hopefully fitting accurately. Seems like one of those features we all saw coming from a mile away, but now it's real. And it has some obvious upside. You want to see how the clothes are supposed to fit you before you actually buy them. Uh it also has some obvious downsides, which is you should only use photos of yourself, but you don't have to. But yeah, I was able to just punch in kind of any one of these garments of clothing in the try-on section, and it worked. And it happily generated a photo of me in a dress. I I guess we're going to keep barreling towards this whole AI future, huh? Subscribe for more.

AI OverviewDefault language

The short explains a new AI-assisted try-on feature from Google that lets users preview how clothing might look on their own image. With a full body photo and a simple background, users head into Google Shopping and select garments to see AI-generated representations of themselves wearing the chosen items. The creator notes both the positive and negative sides of the capability: it can help you gauge overall style and fit before purchasing, but there are caveats such as the need to use only your own photos and potential inaccuracies in how an item fits or appears on your body. The example in the clip shows the AI generating an image of the creator in a dress after selecting a garment, signaling the broader shift toward an AI-driven shopping experience. The video frames this as part of a broader AI-enabled future in consumer tech, inviting viewers to consider the practical benefits and possible limitations as this technology rolls out. Overall, the short is both a demonstration of new capabilities and a prompt to reflect on realism, privacy, and the evolving relationship between fashion, shopping, and AI.
