Ive started to rebuild the car using BMW M2 competition parts. As the front end is from a BMW M2 its slightly wider than the M140i, which mean the new alloys sit deeper in the arch, also i have a BMW M2 style rear bumper which now needs a customised exhaust made to fit the rear of the car. Oh yeah and i also decided to straight pipe it

Notes
The video documents the continuation of a BMW M140i rebuild with a focus on creating a more aggressive, M2-inspired look and sound. Early on, the host confirms the car is now straight piped, setting the tone for a vehicle that blends salvage-rebuild challenges with bold aesthetic and performance choices. The episode dives into fitment trials, starting with 30 millimeter front spacers to widen the wheel stance, then evaluating front end compatibility with an M2 competition front bumper. The process includes addressing rear bumper width, space for exhaust routing, and sourcing an exhaust solution that matches the M2 style while maintaining the 140i’s overall proportions. As the build progresses, attention shifts to the exhaust path, with a center section from Scorpion exhaust sourced through Jacques Fab & Performance and a custom back end fabricated by a local shop, all aimed at delivering a louder, more sporty exhaust note and a distinctive visual package. With the mechanical changes moving forward, the video captures the collaboration between parts suppliers and fabricators. The host explains the steps for mounting spacers, cleaning hubs, and torquing hardware to ensure safe handling of the altered hub geometry. The plan then moves to a full exhaust transformation: replacing the stock down pipe and piping to a three-inch system from turbo to tip, concluding with a dramatic first start and road test. The resulting sound is a highlight, described as surprisingly bassy with crackles and a non-drone, street-friendly character when cruising, yet unleashing a thunderous rasp under throttle. Throughout, the host invites viewer feedback on both the exterior styling choices and the exhaust’s tone, signaling ongoing refinement of both performance and aesthetics. By the end of the video, the M140i has become a more cohesive, visually striking project with a tailor-made exhaust setup that dramatically alters its character. The first cold start and subsequent on-road run demonstrate a clear improvement in noise and performance, while the forthcoming bodywork decisions, whether to pursue wide arches and color matching, remain open for viewer input. The video closes with an invitation to subscribe for updates as the car moves closer to a finished, road-ready state, underscoring the project’s blend of car culture spectacle, practical fabrication work, and enthusiast engagement.
