Check if your car was damaged with Car Vertical - 20% off here - carvertical.com After buying a wrecked Lamborghini Revuelto i had to rebuild it and get it back on the road, but as no one has ever rebuilt one before it was a huge learning curve, even for Lamborghini themselves. To get the car to start we needed to buy an entire new hybrid battery but even then Lamborghini were unable to code the battery to the car properly. Now is my last chance to get theRevuelto running for good before i drive it the entire length of Italy.

Notes
The video documents a 2053 mile road trip in a Lamborghini Revuelto that the creator rebuilt after a severe crash. The opening segment sets the stage for a journey from the factory in Italy to the southern reaches of the country, testing whether a rebuilt hybrid supercar can be driven long distances again. Early on the team reveals a critical issue: the hybrid battery had a crash code that cut power to the car, and even Lamborghini technicians could not code the battery properly. They end up purchasing a completely new hybrid battery and watching Lamborghini work on coding it to the car, a task that proves elusive and time consuming. The narrative maintains a hopeful tone as the crew anticipates a successful test drive, while acknowledging the high risk of further failure and loss. The tension builds around whether the car will finally run reliably enough for the planned trip across Europe. The team emphasizes the financial and emotional stakes, noting the car’s value, the investment in repairs, and the desire to complete the journey without total collapse. As the convoy departs, the Revuelto exhibits intermittent electrical and control issues, including limp mode and wiper faults. The crew discusses potential fixes, including a possible remap to address sensor readings after deleting the catalytic converter and installing a new exhaust. They attempt an engine code reader check and try to erase fault codes to clear limp mode, while considering an external device that could simulate factory sensors to bypass the issue. The car’s behavior fluctuates between moments of power and sudden loss of drive, leaving the team uncertain about reliability for the long road ahead. Throughout, they balance humor and camaraderie with the gravity of driving a high maintenance, high value rebuilt vehicle. The tension peaks when the car is scheduled to be tested outside the Lamborghini facility, with cameras capturing the emotional stakes of a hopeful ending that could turn into a costly disappointment. The first major leg moves them from Italy toward Monaco, with a stop in France and a test drive through various landscapes. The crew encounters a mix of smooth highways and mountain passes, where the car alternates between straights and challenging curves, highlighting the Revuelto’s heft and the precision needed to handle it. They observe performance quirks such as the car’s mind of its own control buttons, intermittent power, and a persistent need to diagnose electrical symptoms as fuel economy becomes a running joke among the team. A key subplot involves an attempt to minimize fuel cost by gambling at the Monte Carlo casino, turning the trip into a social experiment about efficiency and luck. The group navigates tolls, fuel stops, and the ongoing saga of the car’s reliability, all while a rival GT3 RS stays on their tail, adding competitive energy to the journey. In France and then into Monaco, the team continues testing, using diagnostic tools and on-board remotes to erase codes and monitor the car’s behavior. They discover that a remap and sensor reconciliation might be required to reassure the ECU, and they debate whether to pursue professional tuning or keep the car stock. A lighter subplot follows the team’s shenanigans with Nico’s Ferrari and James’s GT3 RS, including a playful bet around fuel economy and a high-stakes casino challenge that ties back to their driving pace and risk tolerance. As they edge toward Monaco, the Revuelto finally escapes occasional limp mode with a last-ditch repair strategy, and the mood shifts from fear of failure to a cautious optimism about reaching the final destination. The episode concludes with the crew celebrating partial successes, acknowledging open issues, and preparing for the next stage of a larger restoration and testing project. The journey continues into the southern Italian region, where the roads improve and the scenery becomes a character in its own right. The team tests the Revuelto on winding mountain roads, pushing the car to its limits as they try to beat the clock, the track leaderboard, and the car’s own reliability concerns. A dramatic moment occurs when a mirror makes contact with a bus on a narrow bend, resulting in minor cosmetic damage but no safety failure, underscoring the ever-present risk of collisions on challenging roads. Yet even with this setback, the crew presses on, determined to reach the south and complete their mission, which centers on setting a laps record at the Levante circuit using a heavily modified hybrid powertrain. Throughout, the dialogue blends technical explanations with humor about weight, electronics, and the evolving design philosophy of hybrid supercars. The Levante circuit segment captures the highest stakes of the trip as the crew tests the Revuelto against a performance benchmark. The team discovers a cracked brake disc late in the session, a costly and alarming find that could endanger the trip and any attempt at a record. They consult Lamborghini for parts, contemplate the cost, and weigh the risks of continuing with a known structural issue. Despite the setback, James’s GT3 RS manages a competitive lap time, and the crew reflects on the contrast between what the car is capable of and what the car’s reliability allows them to attempt. The overall tone shifts from ambitious spectacle to pragmatic perseverance as they determine the car’s fate for future legs of the journey. The video ends on a note of gratitude: the team acknowledges the hard work of everyone involved, celebrates the moments of success, and looks forward to continuing the adventure with caution, humor, and determination.

Questions answered
- What are the main mechanical hurdles the Revuelto faced during the trip?
- The Revuelto faced intermittent limp mode, wiper and electrical faults, a need for a new hybrid battery due to a coded fault, sensor and catalytic converter reading issues after exhaust changes, and a cracked brake disc near the end.
- How did the team attempt to fix the car while on the road?
- They erased fault codes with a diagnostic tool, considered a remap to address sensor readings, connected an OBD killer device as a test, and coordinated with Lamborghini for battery coding and potential testing at a main dealership.
