Grab a YFood Taster Pack Here USE CODE MAT10 bit.ly I bought this Audi RS5 crash damaged from auction for my girlfriend to use as her daily car. Now i have repaired it i need to get it back on the road and sort the exhaust noise. The Audi RS5 has a 4.2 N/A V8 but you just can't seem to hear the V8 rumble on the stock exhaust system, so i bought a cat back no res @MilltekSport exhaust! The new sound of the exhaust is crazy!!

The video follows a hands-on build where the host, Matt Armstrong, takes a crash-damaged Audi RS5 and transforms its presence and sound through an aftermarket exhaust install. Early on, the RS5 is pitted against a BMW M140i in a sound test to set a baseline, highlighting the relative quietness of the stock V8 exhaust and the potential for improvement. The team then schedules a body shop visit to repair the blue front end, ensuring the car can pass UK MOT testing, and documents the process of disabling adaptive headlights as part of a practical salvage-to-street transformation. After the repair phase, the RS5 receives a full repaint and detailing at Darkside Body Shop, with the paintwork described as stunning and the color shift giving the car a stealthy, premium look that significantly elevates its curb appeal. Finally, the core modification, the cat-back Milltek exhaust system with a valved setup,is installed, tested, and evaluated on the road and in a tunnel, showing a dramatic increase in presence and a tuned V8 bark that suits Hannah’s excited reaction when she first hears and drives the finished car. The video closes with reflections on the build’s total cost, the car’s anticipated market value, and a call to viewers to like, subscribe, and comment on potential further upgrades such as decat or remap. Throughout, the host emphasizes team effort, careful planning, and the satisfaction of turning a wrecked project into a standout daily driver with strong performance potential. The narrative weaves practical mechanical steps with aesthetic upgrades, underscoring how paint, wheels, and exhaust collectively redefine the RS5’s identity while keeping the audience engaged with on-screen progress updates and reactions. The final tone blends automotive enthusiasm with a transparent breakdown of costs and install steps, inviting viewers to participate in the next phase of the build.

Questions answered

What was the main goal of the exhaust upgrade on the Audi RS5?
The main goal was to replace the stock exhaust with a cat-back Milltek system to increase exhaust sound and performance, creating a more aggressive tone while allowing a valve-controlled quiet mode for daily driving.
How did the presenter address the MOT and headlight adaptability issue during the build?
The presenter disabled the adaptive headlight control by removing relevant fuses and using the OBD vacuum to bypass the adaptive system. They also ensured the car could pass the MOT after body repairs and color match were completed.
What was the final assessment of the exhaust change on the road and in the tunnel?
On the road the exhaust sounded more aggressive and refined in dynamic mode, and in the tunnel the sound was notably more pronounced and satisfying, marking a successful upgrade over the stock system.
